Nominate someone to receive the
Make a Difference Award

The Leadership On Campus “Make a Difference Award” honors the legacy of Steven H. Johnson, the visionary founder of Campus Benefits and Leadership on Campus. With a career spanning over 35 years, Steven dedicated his life to serving public education, developing innovative strategies, and inspiring positive change.

Steven believed that, “Each one of us is born with a special gift….it is our duty to recognize that gift, nurture that gift, become passionate about that gift and then give it back to the One who gave it to us, so He can give it to the world.”

His philosophy centered on maintaining a great attitude, embracing one’s calling, and giving selflessly, continuing to inspire individuals to pursue excellence in both their personal and professional lives. It encourages individuals to maintain a 100% great attitude at all times, embracing positivity with the mindset of “I like myself, I love my family, I love my job.”

The “Make a Difference” Award is rooted in Steven’s favorite Leadership on Campus teachings, which emphasize positivity, purpose, accountability, continuous learning, and resilience.  It will be presented to individuals who exemplify these principles, making a lasting difference through their dedication, integrity, and commitment to serving others.

Steven made an impact on all who knew him, and it is our wish to recognize those individuals who embody the principals of the “Make a Difference” lessons and their contributions to their communities. Through this award, we will celebrate their passion, perseverance, and impact, carrying forward Steven’s enduring legacy.
